Fai Yue harrumphed coldly, “Do you think I will believe that a rank 4 martial mortal cultivator would challenge a rank 1 martial core cultivator to a fight over a house? Do you think I am stupid?” She tightened her grip on Cui Ni’s fist.
“Ahh!” Cui Ni let out a low – pain filled shout; then he shook his head and while doing so, he shouted out, “Of course not! I wouldn’t dare to assume such a thing! Please believe me!”
At this rate his hand will be crushed by her hand.
Su Jun thought; then he raised his right arm and put it on Fai Yue’s left shoulder, “He is telling the truth. I was the one that challenged him. So please let him go.”
Feeling a hand on her left shoulder, and hearing Su Jun’s words that sounded behind her, Fai Yue released the grip that she had on Cui Ni’s hand and lowered her arm to her side. She turned her head back, and her eyes moved to Su Jun’s hand that was placed on her shoulder. She furrowed her eyebrows, “Move your hand.”
Cui Ni breathed out a sigh of relief, and turned his eyes to Su Jun, looking at him with gratitude.
Su Jun slightly nodded his head to Fai Yue and complied. He moved his hand away from her shoulder, and lowered it to his said, “Thank you.” He raised the corners of his lips, smiling.
Fai Yue frowned and turned her head back to Cui Ni, “I don’t know why, but our junior brother is intent on defending you. Even though you wanted to steal his house away from him, and even though you viciously attacked him just moments ago. And since our junior brother is intent on defending you, I won’t do anything to you, but let me say this. If you dare to lay a hand on him, I will cripple you. And that is my promise to you.” After her last word left her mouth, she vanished into thin air.
Su Jun’s pupils constricted,
she is gone…
He thought and moved his eye to Cui Ni.
Cui Ni hanged his head and breathed out a loud sigh of relief. “Thank god,” he mumbled; then he raised his head; his eyes met with Su Jun’s, “Thank you—and I am sorry… You have won our bet, take my house if you want.”
Su Jun shook his head, “No, I lost. Or I would have lost if she didn’t come. The house is yours. I will just find another.”
Cui Ni widened his eyes from shock. “What?! Why did you even want my house in the first place?!” he shouted out, confused.
Su Jun shook his head again. “It was not about the house. I just wanted to see how would I fare against a rank 1 martial core cultivator, that’s all I wanted.”
Cui Ni widened his eyes from shock even more. “What?! You wanted to see how you would fare against a rank 1 martial core cultivator as a rank 4 martial mortal cultivator?!” he shouted out, shocked.
Su Jun nodded his head in affirmation. “That’s right. That is all I wanted,” he said, and raised both corners of his lips, smiling.
Cui Ni gasped from shock; his mouth slightly opened. He started staring at Su Jun with a blank look on his face. A single second of silence passed and Su Jun opened his mouth as he said, “By the way who was she?”
Cui Ni’s pupils constricted, and he returned to reality because of Su Jun’s words. He closed his slightly opened mouth and said with a serious voice, “Since you just arrived at the inner sect, it's no surprise that you don’t know. Her name is Fai Yue, and you should stay away from her as far as possible.”
Su Jun tilted his head in confusion, “How so?”
Cui Ni sighed heavily, “You see… She is the oldest daughter of the Fai family’s head. And she is the third strongest in our sect. But most importantly, she is the fiancée of Duan Miji – the sect master’s oldest son, and the strongest disciple of our sect. I will repeat this again, stay away from her as far as possible.”
“I see,” Su Jun said; then he thought,
so she already has a fiancée and it’s Duan Xi’s older brother. That’s too bad… No!… What am I thinking? I already like Duan Xi…
“We have gotten off on a wrong foot, junior brother. My name is Cui Ni, what is yours?” Cui Ni said with a slight smile on his face as Su Jun’s thoughts concluded.
Su Jun nodded his head, “I agree. We should have started with introductions.” He raised the corners of his lips, smiling widely, “My name is Su Jun, nice to meet you senior brother, Cui Ni. I hope we can be friends.”
Cui Ni nodded his head back, and the smile on his face broadened, “Yeah, let’s be friends, junior brother Su Jun… Umm, junior brother Su Jun, do you want me to help you find an unoccupied house?”
Su Jun shook his head, “No, I will be fine. Thank you anyway, senior brother Cui Ni.”
“I understand. Good luck in finding a house, junior brother Su Jun,” Cui Ni said; then he turned around and walked towards his house that he managed to keep. At the same time, Su Jun turned towards the other houses and walked off.
Su Jun quickly found an open house and walked inside. Inside, he saw that the house was identical to the house he had in the outer sect.
Back to cultivating. I won’t leave until I reach the bottleneck. Rank 6 martial mortal realm.
Su Jun walked up to the bed and sat down. Then he closed his eyes and focused on his cultivation skill <Absorption of the five elements>.
One strand of Qi out of many floated towards Su Jun. It touched his skin and entered his body. It travelled through his meridians, but just before it could touch and enter his dantian, the strand of Qi suddenly split up into six and each one entered his dantian separately. One colourless, one red, one green, one purple, one blue and one white. Six messages floated up in his head. <+1> <+1> <+1> <+1> <+1> <+1>; then the same six messages continued floating up in his head every five seconds, and like that 55 days passed.
