Chapter 1 - My First Civilized Encounter

I Am Just A Ghost

Hey guys. Yeah, it's been a while — around 8 months, to be honest. A lot happened. I started university, life picked up its pace, and writing had to take a back seat. But I never stopped thinking about Dragonsbane. This story means too much to me to let it collect dust. So I'm back. Not with a perfect, polished return — just me, picking the pen back up, because that's the only way I'll ever grow. Now, about the arc. The Waiting Grounds has been rewritten — a lot. What started as a focused rewrite became something much bigger than planned, and if I'm being honest, that happened because I kept trying to control every detail. It didn't work. The pacing got strange and the content piled up instead of flowing naturally. That's when I remembered what G.R.R. Martin once said — that writers are either architects or gardeners. I've been trying to be an architect when I'm really a gardener. So going forward, I'm letting the story flow. The arc's objective has changed again, I'm still not finished, and I won't pretend otherwise. I'll edit and adapt as chapters come. Because that's what Dragonsbane has always been — my training grounds. A space to try, to fail, to learn, and to tell something real. Every rewrite, every mistake has been part of that journey. I'm still learning, so if something resonates or something doesn't, feel free to let me know, I read every comment. Anyway. I missed this — and I'm glad I found my way back. — I Am Just a Ghost
