Chapter 14 - ÔÜ£´©ÅFOURTEENÔÜ£´©Å

All that could be heard was, the fire place crackling in the lounge, where the 6 dragon riders and Abigail were waiting for some of lord Ragnar's guards to come back.

Amelia was in deep thought as she stared into the fire place, images in her head. The look on Ethrinria's face when Amelia was dragged away haunted her, it made her body shiver.

She didn't understand how Lord Ragnar could think she would ever harm them, especially after proving herself to him and the dragon riders that she was different from the rest. Ruvaen drank slowly from the whiskey he poured himself.

"What are you going to do Amelia? When they bring your parents here?" Srocs asked.

Amelia slowly looked away from the fire and looked over at her friend, "Honestly, I want to kill my father but i know that'll make me the bad guy. I do want them to pay for what they did to me, my dragon, Ruvaen and Ceada."

The door suddenly opened and one of the kingdom guards was there, his name was Phoenix, "We have brought them back, the lord has summoned the villagers to the arena, I will take you there."

"What's going to happen?" Abigail asked.

Phoenix glanced over at her, "The villagers will decide what to do after they plea for their lives but Amelia has the final say."

Abigail didn't say anything to reply, instead she headed out of the room first with the rest following behind, Ruvaen walked by Amelia's side, his hand gently rubbing against Amelia's forearm.

Phoenix took the 7 of them to the arena, the arena was made out of stone and wood, created in a circle, with mix matching spikes and wire, each side was filled with over 500 seats to fit some of the villagers inside, a red and gold throne in the middle for the lord himself.

On the ground was Richard, Troy and Teresa, their hands tied behind their backs, the crowd was shouting viscously at them.

"Wait please Lord Ragnar!" Richard pleaded causing the crowd to halt in their shouting.

Lord Ragnar looked at Richard before signalling his hand for him to continue.

"Mages have one request when they are about to die, we must battle to the death, or until one of us gives up. I need to fight Amelia."

Lord Ragnar looked over at Amelia, she stared hard at her father, "is that true?" Lord Ragnar asked.

"It can be, but everyone must agree to the terms of the battle," She couldn't believe, he would suggest that. Especially with all these people around and how dragon riders had codes to stand by at.

"What are your terms?" Lord Ragnar asked Richard.

"If I win, me and my son go free," Teresa gasped hearing Richard say that, what about her? She glared at him before he spoke again, "If I lose, you may do whatever you please to me but Troy stays unharmed."

"Amelia, you can't you are still weak," Ruvean replied as he looked at Amelia.

Amelia shook her head, "No I have too, it's the only way."

The crowd began to chant for her, Amelia didn't say anything else as she headed down into the arena at Richards request, she wanted to prove to everyone she was with them, not against them. If this was the only way to gain their trust again, then she will do it.

Amelia stepped across Richard, a few meters away from him, her eyes had the fire back inside them. She clapped her hands together, a light appeared down onto her

"It'll be good going free, remember the rules? We fight fare until one of us dies or give up." Richard spoke before summoning his powers "

Vatn úr sjónum, drukkna sorgir hennar

."

Water shot from his hands but Amelia dodged, leaning backwards and allowed the water to whoosh past her missing her my a few inches, she chuckled deeply as she stood back up again.

Stomping on the ground twice, a light appeared from her hands, twisting her hands around, her eyes lit up like the sun, "

sólskin ljóss sólskin blindu

."

Light sored through her hands hitting Richard with such a force, it sent him hurtling backwards, causing him to grunt before kneeling on the ground, he screamed loudly as the pain in his eyes continued to grow.

"You try and kill my friends, you deserve nothing but punishment," Amelia shouted.

Richard stood back up, the pain in his eyes grew every second. A hiss left his mouth as he clapped his hands together.

"Was she really that strong?"

he thought,

"or have I gotten that bad?"

Richard stomped onto the ground, "

Brennandi hold, logandi logi. Ég býð þér að rísa

."

The ground began to shake, the dirt beneath Richard began to seperate and crack, a large ton of smoke broke free causing Amelia to cover her mouth and cough.

That's when she heard it, a roar. An almighty dragon roar, she froze on the spot as she stared at the dragon.

"Attack, her," he commanded the dragon.

The dragon huffed and smoke appeared out of his nostrils before breathing out ice, hitting Amelia. The force sent her hurtling back into the arena wall, a loud

whack

filled the arena, earning her to fall to her knees and wince in pain. The pain was unbearable but she had to win, she needed to win.

The dragon flared its nostrils back, leaning its head backwards breathing in the air before releasing the ice, Amelia was quick to dodge the attack. Standing up straight, she glared heavily at Richard, she whispered to herself as she moved her hands in motions, triggering the ground beneath him and the ice dragon to crumble and break apart.

"

Himnarnir heyra bæn mína, opna jörðina og salla hana í heilu lagi

," she whispered, her eyes turned a purplish blue colour causing everyone to gasp at the sight.

Richard stepped back in shock as he watched the magic inside of her pour around her. The ground suddenly opened more, the ice dragon began to fell before disappearing into the air. Amelia stared at her father as she created rocks from the broken arena floor, each one hurling towards him.

Each one hit him with force that sent him to the ground, the rocks began to die down as Amelia walked up placing her sword against his throat, she was about to slash it when she took a deep breath.

"No you aren't worth it, I don't need to have your blood on my sword. You lose, I win," she spoke before turning around.

The crowd began to cheer as Amelia put her hand up, she was thankful for those who still trusted her. Richard grumbled before standing up he was about to attack her from behind when Teresa stood behind him.

Amelia gasped as she heard the commotion and turned around to see Teresa with a knife against Richard's neck, tears forming in her eyes.

"Amelia, my darling. I am so sorry for everything I have done to you, for not protecting you. You were right, we can be different. Just know I love you," with that she slit Richards throat.

Amelia gasped as his blood splashed onto her, Richard gargled as he gripped his neck falling to the ground. Amelia looked up at her mother but before she could say anything, Teresa vanished.

Amelia left Richards body on the ground of the arena, allowing Troy to watch his father bleed out in front of him. Everyone chanted Amelia's name once again as she exited the arena.
