Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: The wholly different (2)

Lat'r yond eve, amidst the fi'ry crackle. The tribesmen congregated in a circle. Presently, Dagobert hath kept a watchful eye on Clovis, the scion of the esteemed l'rd. The issue wast seated in attendance, his owneth did injure handeth did bind with a linen cloth as that gent engag'd in colloquy with the oth'rs.

As his brown eyes chanced upon Dagobert, who is't satteth with his backeth 'gainst the mure, that gent murmured a few words to the assembled company. Ascending from his seat, that gent madeth his way ov'r to Dagobert. The latt'r, shivering with bitter cold, ceased his quivering at the toucheth of a thick, plush cover draped across his backeth.

His gazeth fluttered upwards, and that gent beheld the issue approaching. Dagobert wast on the pointeth of ascending, but the chief's armeth settled upon his shouldst'r, persuading that gent to remaineth seated. But soft, Dagobert's eyes descended, correcting upon the did injure f'rm of Clovis.

The issue took his seat beside Dagobert, his countenance tranquil. The latt'r alloweth out a strings of mournful sighs. "issue..." Dagobert began, his voice tinged with anguish. The sir regarded that gent with a solemn expression. "I am asham'd... I am mortified to beest in thy presence." That gent confessed, his dark hairline furrowed in distress.

Dagobert continued, "I failed to keepeth mine own vow... I wast unable to protecteth that gent... " "thee endeavoured to the utmost," Dagobert ventured to sayeth.

Dagibert though did shoot that gent a behold, that gent shook his headeth. “You entrusted that gent to me as thee entrusted mine own family to you.” That gent then drops his headeth, “T-This wast the least I couldst has't done… yet I failed… I failed thee mine own master…

“Dagobert… behold at me.”

That gent didst not doth yond instantly but didst doth t aft'r the instant tempus that gent called his name.”Yes… thee has't asham'd me…

Dagobert's lips trembled. Though the issue placed a comforting handeth on his shouldst'r, "thee has't besmirched mine own valorous nameth, mine own lief fellow... thee knoweth wherefore?" (Dagobert blinked in consternation)

"this, I feareth, is mine own sacr'd duty...!" (Dagobert recoiled in distress) Valorous heavens, how couldst thee utter such words as if thee owed me a debt of gratitude?"

"Dagobert, lief chap, doth not beest so excessively self-castigating... doth not did wind thy owneth spirit."

The issue continued to off'r that gent words of comf'rt as the physician began to prepareth his medical implements. That gent then carefully did hold those folk ov'r the thundering fireth, causing the metal to heateth up.

The dagger took on a lovely shadeth of crimson as that gent then, with his oth'r handeth, began to rolleth up his sleeve. A most unfortunate gash hadst appeared, a deep, plum-like hue. That gent then carefully applied the heat'd metal to t. Clovis's corpse jerked violently as a pained hiss escaped from the young lad's lips.

Upon scrutinizing the individual, the issue and Dagobert's gazeth shifted directly towards that gent. The medical practitioner observed that gent as that gent settled backeth, then breathed with abandon. As his eyes gradually began to flutt'r ope, his gazeth wandered aimlessly about the ceiling.

"Er, Mouter... Adelia... What seemeth thou to beest experiencing?," that gent inquired, still somewhat lucid but not entirely composed.

The issue hadst by yond pointeth positioned himself on the did grind beside that gent, gazing downwards with a conc'rn'd expression.

"A th'rough examination indicates yond all is well, lief son," that gent declared soothingly. "doth not trouble thyself"

Clovis's attention subsequently shifted to Dagobert, who is't wast still scrutinizing that gent with un beheld w'rry. That gent hesitantly did extend a trembling handeth in aid.

Without pauseth, Dagobert's gazeth did rise to meeteth Clovis's. In a gesture of affection, that gent grasped Clovis's handeth firmly. As Clovis tightened his gripeth, that gent whispered,

"thee hath preserved mine own existence."

Dagobert remained in silence, m'rely drifting vacillatingly in reaction.

Yond night somehow moved the most serenely.
