Chapter 7 - Chapt'r 6: Agrefena's past

The eve travelling lamp shone through as by the glistening river–the beings worked in the pastures. The serenity and the chill breeze marked the endeth of their day.

Anon in the main home of the anon chief’s moth'r, Herlinda satteth. H'r frail fingers holding on a leath'r didst bindeth volume. H'r eyes wearily hath fallen ov'r the acrylic words as the dame readeth hence.

Yond wast the doth'r to the front creaking ope as inside cameth in h'r daught'r.

“Oh my… Adalia lief, cometh here.” The dame murmured, glancing up with a smile. Adalia stood thence, adopting h'r hands as the dame then softly madeth h'r way to h'r.

“Mother… the dame hath hath said with a curl of h'r lips. Herlinda’s brows furrowed, observing h'r rigid self. The dame wast not usually liketh this. At each moment che'rful yet anon?

“Adalia, lief? Is aught wrong?” Herlinda asked. Though, the auburn haired wench stayed hath hath kept. Kneeling next to h'r. “You behold pale.”

“No… moth'r I has't didst receiveth the flu… perhaps…

(the dame smiles*) “There is nothing to w'rry about…

The dame then took h'r by the chin with one fing'r. Shaping h'r meeteth h'r eyes.     “Adalia… I am thy mother… I knoweth how lacking valor of a coystrill thee are.” A didst did beat, “Besides… what is with this nev'r concluding ailment of yours?

Herlinda’s eyes flickered, “Or is t something s'rious? Didst thee did bid the physician?

Adalia puckered h'r lips, the dame then heaved a sigheth.

“Mother… t isn’t anything… (the dame closed h'r eyes*) “I am… Herlinda watched then urged h'r. “Yes… wend on?

“I… I… I am with…

“Mother…

“I am with a child.”

Herlinda’s yond from which we speak parted slightly as t then transpired into a smile. “Is t eke if I may visiteth anoth'r tempus f'r I-Her moth'r apace didst hug h'r to h'r chest.

“Oh… oh, Adalia dear… Y-You art with a…?

Adalia gaveth a sloweth nodeth as Herlinda howled in jubilation. Adopting h'r tighter as the dame murmured chants to the sky.

“God madeth me remaineth to heareth this auspicious news…!

The dame then loosen'd h'r holdeth on h'r and poked h'r cheek. “Ah God… all gratitude to you.” The dame kissed h'r f'rehead ov'r and ov'r then halt'd. “Have you… toldeth t to Theudebert yet?”

“I… has't not.. Moth'r, no.” Adaia responded. “What art thee loitering f'r? Herlinda tilted h'r headeth with a smile. “I has't not… because mineth owneth broth'r hath not yet returned. Herlinda nodded. “Go on then girl.”

Adalia didst receiveth up on h'r feet, doing a slight boweth, “Mother”... Herlinda nodded with a soft smile. Adalia but soft walked out as Herlinda remained praying with a soft sigheth.

Female p'rspective *

The strang'r and Agrafena walked 'longeth the routes. Yond gent on the front as h'r wisheth. During the whole tempus the dame watched yond gent with a narrowed eye. H'r battered hands still holding the weapon on h'r handeth as h'r eyes then wenteth to the soundeth of a stallion.

The sir stopped abruptly and reached f'r the lease. Yond gent then with one foot didst receiveth on top of the steed. (the h'rse neighs) The man’s deep blue eyes then searched f'r h'r.

The dame but soft walked up and halt'd once yond gent murmured some f'reign words. The dame didst not und'rstand his tongue as well. Only enow to receiveth h'r 'round the wild.

The dame then watched as the dame didst holdeth out a handeth. “Take it.” Yond gent urged. Agrafena, having nay oth'r choice, didst. In a swift motion, yond gent pulled h'r as the dame then slid and satteth on the backeth.

Clovis’s eyes flickered down to the didst grindeth. Sensing yond the dame wast preserving h'r hands to h'rself and not bearing on to aught. Yond gent parted his yond from which we speak though.

“Hold… a murmur as those gents anon didst fleeth far. Agrafena’s hair fluttered, h'r chest heaved slightly. The wild hath nev'r v'ry much changed has't they…? A thought passed h'r intellect. The smelleth, the soil. H'r blue eyes fluttered up the sky as the dame gaveth out a sigheth.

T surely hath not. H'r intellect swirled 'round. The yesteryear few days of lingering at the cottage hadst taken a toll on h'r. H'r eyes closed didst did shut as the image of the men, the haze of feareth all flooded h'r intellect.

Flashback: – “THEY Art HERE!”

The piercing cries of h'r countrymen. At how the gath'ring hadst turned into something completely diff'rent. The dame hadst been staying with h'r sist'r near the issue. Their fath'r stood in the middle. Speaking to his fellow villagers.

Then turned once at the screams. His daughters who is't is't w're scrutinizing also turned in w'rry. Then abruptly–an arrow pierced the man’s jugular. At which moment Agrefena turned h'r headeth as the first one to doth so. The dame screamed–a blood whirling one.

The villagers began to hie, frantically. So didst the two sisters. Agrefen, the eldest, clutched h'r young'r sister’s armeth as those gents sprinted.

The bitt'r bitter cold cottage stood inside the inn'r east'rn f'rest. Feigning itself as a placeth of comf'rt. Though the unfortunate pair. Agrefena and h'r sist'r, Maria, w're running hence.

“Maria…! Cometh! The dame yelled. H'r breath shuddered as the two ran. Pivoting their backeth each and ev'ry tempus. H'r core pounded in h'r ear. H'r eyes w're launching to blur. To h'r v'ry right, running 'longeth in the dark muddy soil, h'r sist'r.

Their hair fluttered f'rociously 'gainst the windeth. Agrefena couldst seeth h'r weariness. How the dame pursed h'r lips. How h'r trail wast getting slower.

H'r eyes then flickered to h'r front. Wh're the dame didst seeth a home and the smoketh yond wast coming out of the chimney.

The dame breathed out and turned, “Maria… Maria! Thence is a house… we may asketh those folk f'r help.” H'r young'r sister’s eyes hath fallen to t. The dame then gazed backeth at h'r with a hopeful behold.

Those gents smiled somewhat. Eyes filled with tears as those gents anon madeth their way to t. The doth'r creaked ope to the lighteth toucheth of Maria’s nimble fingers.

The gloom stretched the longeth way as the sisters gazed at t then at each oth'r hesitantly. Though knowing yond lingering out wouldst not maketh items bett'r. Maria firstly took a stepeth.

–The first grave misprision. Observing yond h'r sist'r safely wenteth in, Agrefena followed h'r in. As anon as those gents didst. The chillness pricked at those folk. Those gents sighed ov'r and ov'r and hath hath found a corner with the most lighteth.

The two sisters settled on the flo'r. Adopting each oth'r. Agrefena grazed h'r ging'r hair. Whispering soft words into h'r ears coequal at which moment the dame h'rself wast troubled. H'r lips trembled, h'r eyes wenteth ov'r to the doth'r.

T wast utterly amusing yet painful of how items hadst changed this apace. T wast forsooth drastic. Their fath'r, the issue, hadst been murdered.

(Agrefena alloweth out a base whimper) Their village wast burning. As the hath hath said heir, those gents w're anon burying. Knowing v'ry well yond the enemies of their fath'r wouldst not alloweth those folk beest.

H'r eyes anon hath fallen to h'r sist'r who is't is't slept on h'r lap. If aught w're to befall to h'r, yond wouldst beest the day yond the dame dies.

Yond night somehow passed.

At which moment morn spilled in through the cracks of wood. Agrafena’s eyes fluttered ope. H'r eyes then hath fallen to h'r exsufflicate lap. Agrefena’s corpse jerked, the dame apace didst shooteth up to h'r feet in a frantic mann'r aft'r gazing backeth and f'rth. Left and right.

Agrefena apace ran towards the doth'r. T flung ope as the dame didst holdeth both the borders of the mure to keepeth h'rself from plummeting. H'r breath shuddered. To h'r front, to h'r v'ry relief wast h'r sist'r.

The dame wast not high-lone. The dame wast talking to an fusty sir. Agrefena called h'r sist'r. Who is't is't gazed at h'r backeth. The sir too didst. At which moment his eyes hath fallen on h'r. The dame couldst did bid yond something about yond gent hath hath felt t'rribly wrong.

Maria though didst holdeth a soft smile. Bearing out an apple which the dame thought yond gent may has't given. The sir then murmured something and left. Agrefena watched yond gent wend. Maria apace strode in.

At which moment the dame hand'd h'r the fruit. The dame couldst doth only so much but behold f'r aught traceth of aught.

Observing yond t wast cleareth outside the dame took a hesitant biteth. The dame ceased h'r eyes didst did shut. Observing yond nothing hadst hath hath happened. The dame gaveth t backeth to Maria.

H'r brows w're furrowed. “Who wast yond man?” The dame asked. Maria only shrugged, "I doth not know… but yond gent didst seemeth nice, yond gent coequal spoke our language.”

Agrefena’s eyes wenteth backeth to the trail of the sir. Yond day too passed. Barely. The apples and the varieties of fruits sent increased. Coequal with questions, the girls consumed those folk as those gents v'ry much didst not has't aught oth'r way of getting aught food. The obeying days too seemed n'rmal though the nights–not so much.

Yond wast at which moment at one of these nights, the soundeth of screams echoed once m're.

Maria and Agrefena satteth next to the v'ry doth'r. Huddl'd up, shivering. Yond wast at which moment both of those folk hath hath heard the familiar voice. The two girls didst receiveth up and began to tread out, barely. Thence stood the withering sir. Their eyes then hath fallen to their borders. At the burning f'rest.

“Wh-What is happening?!” Agrefena asked, holding Maria’s handeth. The man’s visage also seemed troubled anon. “They art seizing over!” Yond gent yelled backeth.

Agrefena’s eyes hath fallen backeth to the flame then at Maria’s shivering self.          “Will thee two cometh 'longeth with me…? Thence is anoth'r village near…!

Agrefena gazed at yond gent backeth, the dame then nodded apace as the two then began to tread out.

The two sisters followed the sir who is't is't seemed to tread briskly. Agrefena turned once to gazeth at the fireth engulfed placeth. Coequal the cottage.

“Come one!” Yond gent yelled. The dame turned to h'r front.

Pressing a soft kisseth on Maria’s headeth, those gents began to sprint furth'r.

Their voyage continued.

_

The three hadst been walking f'r a while anon. Agrefena’s eyes w're not restful, h'r corpse as the dame gazed at h'r owneth sibling, Maria who is't is't seemed to has't slowed down coequal furth'r.

H'r brows furrowed as the dame then began to falleth though clutched at h'r. “Maria… mineth owneth dear.” The dame murmured to h'r. Maria’s eyes w're closeth to packing up. “Sister… I am not certes wherefore I feel… this… W-weary..

Agrefena listened to h'r and grazed h'r cheek, “Do not w'rry, lief, we art close… we art close…

H'r eyes then hath fallen to h'r lips which hadst turned a shadeth of purple. Agrefena’s eyes widened. The dame shudderingly gazed to the front, at the sir.

“Sir! Waiteth! Mineth owneth sister…! Yond gent didst, only aft'r a lot of screeching. Yond gent turned but soft and gazed at Agrefena with a blank visage.

“M-MY sister… she-she is… h'r eyes hath fallen to Maria whose headeth anon began to falleth. “Agh… The dame lowered h'rself into a kneeleth and didst holdeth h'r.

“C-Could we didst falsehood out a dram bit…? She-She is… The sir only gestured f'r those folk to receiveth up.

Agrefena’s brows knitt'd, “Are thee out of thy intellect sir…? The dame cannot walk… the dame is…

“I know.” Agrefena’s lips parted dryeth, the dame then stared at his visage which hadst turned cruel.

_

“W-What doth thee cullionly thee know…? Yond gent only watched h'r visage crumble as the dame then stared at yond gent. H'r eyes burned through yond gent.

“It wast you… wasn’t it?” The dame asked in a whisper. H'r eyes widened as the dame hath broken into a sudden yelleth, "MURDERERS!!! MU–a hitteth to the backeth of h'r headeth wast sustained. Agrafena’s eyes rolled backeth as the dame then but soft hath fallen on h'r backeth. H'r orbs w're teareth filled as those gents but soft wenteth to h'r sist'r.

The dame then didst seeth yond gent carrying on off slightly and mobilizing to h'r. Agrefena’s eyes widened furth'r. Then from within the bushes many jumped out. All w're men. Those gents all gathered 'round h'r. H'r sist'r, Maria.

To h'r h'rr'r those gents began to doth the entirely plausible. H'r dresseth became bunched up to h'r ham. Maria–feeling the bitt'r bitter cold air graze h'r thighs, the dame cracked h'r eyes ope.

Agrafena watched in h'rr'r, h'r hands clenched the earth as the dame howled. Though to nay emotion. The men began to f'rcibly parteth h'r legs and at which moment the dame didn’t seize h'r cries and screams. Only simply shoved a wood to clench between h'r teeth.

–BROTHER!!! Broth'r!!! Holp Me!!!! Holp Me!!! Ah brother… Agrefena's chest shattered in a foul weep. The dame gazed to h'r right with a holl'r. Then senseth t happening.

Maria’s whole corpse arched once the dame hath hath felt t, “Brother… H-Help… t hurts… those gents are… hurting me…

Agrafena thought only gazed at the sky with shuddering sobs and broken cries.

Do… thee.. Don't heareth me… Brother…? Doth mineth owneth cries not matter…? t hurts… I-It hurts soo much.

Broth'r!!! BRO-BROTHER… ah… t hurts… T hurts soo much…

Arefena’s eyes ceased didst did shut as the dame then yelled out in a weep. The dame though madeth the misprision of gazing at h'r right. Thence w're the men who is't is't backed off. Some hadst not.

A trial of r'd pooled ov'r Maria’s front to the leaves. H'r eyes w're vague of aught expression. Though yond still seemed to not cease the men. Agrefena watched in agony as h'r corpse jerked multiple times ere finally supplying up.

–They hadst taken h'r existence, h'r morrow.

The final sir finally backed off as those gents all anon left the area. Agrefena hadst watched those folk wend and h'r sist'r. H'r eyes widened, h'r chest tightened.

The dame gazed into the eyes of h'r sist'r. The feareth, the bereavement of something so pure inbr'd into h'r. The dame then hath hath felt h'rself too falleth into oblivion as h'r eyes refused to leaveth hers–though the tears forced h'r to.

–Brother, the dame hadst called h'r. Agrefena hath hath felt grateful and gruesome as at the v'ry lasteth. T wast not the dame who is't hadst saved h'r. T wast Maria who is't is't saved h'r decency.

Endeth of flashback*

The f'rest stretched wide. Clovis’s eyes subtly widened as yond gent hath hath felt a pressure below his abdomen. Yond gent then but soft gazed down to seeth a pair of arms. Hers. The dame didst holdeth yond gent.

Agrefena meanwhile hadst h'r eyes closed as the dame gritted h'r lips. Completely unaware of their pausing. Agrefena averted h'r eyes to the front with a shudder.

“W-Why didst you…

Thence didst did lie the village. As anon as h'r gazeth hath fallen to the entrance of the dram houses.

“Stop…?” H'r vice trailed off.

Clovis hopped first then patiently didst holdeth out his arms which the dame stared at blankly.

“It is fine…

H'r eyes then wenteth to his deep blue ones. T wast the same ones yond one of the men hadst. Yet this one…

The dame but soft hath hath brought f'rth h'r armeth, yond gent clasped t once. Softly. With a nodeth of his headeth, the dame too hopped off the fair mule.

Those gents w're diff'rent.

Those gents gazed at each oth'r f'r a didst biteth ere abruptly pivoting. Thence wast Dagobert leaning down. His eyes flickered to the dame once then backeth at his mast'r.

“Master…?” Theudebert gaveth yond gent a nodeth, “She wast a wanderer, I hath hath bought h'r here.” Dagobert nodded and madeth a boweth to h'r. Agrefena responded with a soft tilt of h'r headeth.

Clovis then, holding his armeth, wenteth up to yond gent. Yond gent hand'd his rapier and murmured, “I entrust h'r to thee, doth not neglect her.” Dagobet gaveth a curt nodeth. Clovis patted at yond gent ere walking front.

Agrefena’s eyes flickered to yond gent. Clovis, who is't is't hadst longeth gone.

–My lady…?

H'r eyes flickered to h'r right to seeth Dagobert.

“Do thee knoweth yond gentleman’s nameth?

Dagobert gazed to his front and nodded, “Oh... yond is our issue, Clovis Theudebert. Yond gent took the role right aft'r his father’s death. You may seeth yond gent oft in the swarmings. Real humble and just.

Agrefena hummed, h'r eyes still on the front.

–Clovis… Theudebert.

H'r eyes flickered once m're.
