Another piece of trash!
Cheng Du's gaze turned icy, locking onto the target as he braced for a fight.
He didn't forget to ask, "Director, what's the play?"
Su Jin opened his mouth to reply, but his eyes suddenly narrowed. The graceful figure on the rooftop had just thrown herself off the edge.
Her descent was unnaturally light, completely lacking the terminal velocity of a suicidal plunge.
A second later, she twisted mid-air, the tips of her toes gracefully touching down on an iron flower rack jutting from the fifth floor.
With a nimble flip, she bypassed the fourth floor entirely and landed silently on the third.
Kicking off the wall, she plummeted straight toward the ground.
As she vanished from his line of sight, Su Jin exploded into a sprint, crossing dozens of yards in a heartbeat before coiling his legs and launching himself.
The dense muscles in his thighs bulged to the point of tearing, his boots stomping the concrete and erupting with monstrous, explosive force!
With a deafening boom, a miniature shockwave rippled outward, sending shattered paving stones flying like shrapnel.
Under Cheng Du's bulging eyes, Su Jin soared through the air, his right arm swinging for momentum before he crashed down heavily onto the second-floor platform of the Community Activity Center.
Holy shit... Is the Director really this monstrous?
Cheng Du stood slack-jawed for a second before snapping out of it and sprinting toward the building.
Up on the platform, Su Jin peered over the ledge.
The woman hadn't run away; she was rapidly closing the distance, heading straight for him.
In a matter of seconds, she scaled a nearby decorative tree and vaulted lightly onto the platform.
She came to a halt at the edge, standing about twenty yards away from Su Jin, a relaxed, playful smile plastered on her face.
Su Jin's eyes locked onto her, analyzing every detail.
She was painfully average-looking, but her demeanor was unnervingly calm—far too calm for someone in an apocalyptic hellscape.
An ordinary survivor who had just awakened an Ability would never exude this kind of casual confidence.
She was absolutely a Disguised Infected!
He could survive a drop from the sixth floor too, but he'd leave a crater. He definitely couldn't do it with her feather-light grace.
Based on her kinetic energy, her raw physical strength was garbage compared to his. Her Ability likely specialized in agility and evasion.
Putting a bullet in her would be the most efficient play, but the Silver Gun was completely dry and needed time to recharge.
He had dumped all the confiscated police firearms on Old Sun to manage the armory, leaving him without a backup piece.
Annoying. Closing the gap and ripping her apart in melee was his best bet.
It took Su Jin less than three seconds to formulate a kill strategy.
"There are four of you," Su Jin probed, his voice flat. "Three have shown up. Where's the last one?"
The woman's eyes curved into crescent moons. "Oh? You're well-informed. You reek of fresh blood... I take it you slaughtered those two useless pieces of trash?"
"So you are a pack. You all spawned on that rooftop together," Su Jin lied smoothly. "That other woman isn't dead yet. She sang like a canary about you..."
Behind his back, Su Jin's right hand flexed, violently pulverizing a chunk of concrete rubble he had kicked up during his landing.
Just as she leaned in to listen, he whipped his arm forward, hurling the crushed concrete straight at her face.
The jagged gravel acted like a point-blank shotgun blast!
Simultaneously, Su Jin's leg muscles detonated, launching him directly into the spread!
Startled by the abrupt, wordless assault, the woman desperately kicked backward the moment Su Jin's arm twitched.
But the improvised shrapnel was too fast, and her evasion trajectory was flawed. A dense cloud of gravel slammed into her.
Fabric shredded instantly, replaced by bloody, cratered divots in her flesh.
She shrieked as a jagged stone punched directly through her right pupil, instantly blinding her in that eye.
Riding the kinetic impact of the stones, she managed to accelerate her retreat.
Half her body had already cleared the edge of the second-floor platform, tipping backward into open air.
But just as she thought she could escape gravity, Su Jin was already there!
He dove, his hand clamping down on her slender ankle like an industrial vise.
With a primal roar, he violently swung her entire body backward like a baseball bat. With a sickening CRACK, he slammed her directly into the concrete roof, her body literally bouncing off the deck from the sheer impact.
The woman hacked up a geyser of blood, painting her own face crimson.
When her remaining eye fluttered open, Su Jin hadn't loosened his death grip on her leg. Instead, he brutally wrenched it sideways, forcefully tearing her hips into a grotesque, agonizing split.
He didn't give her time to scream. His free hand, radiating pure Killing Intent, was already plummeting toward her face like a falling meteor!
Reflected in her terrified pupil, the monstrous swelling of his forearm muscles completely shredded the sleeve of his shirt.
In a desperate surge of survival instinct, she violently snapped her head to the side.
She narrowly evaded the fatal skull-crushing blow... but Su Jin's fist grazed the side of her head, instantly reducing her left ear to a splatter of ground meat.
Seeing she had survived, Su Jin tightened his grip on her ankle, preparing to use her as a bludgeon a second time.
Right at that moment!
A bizarre, intoxicatingly fragrant breeze washed over him. Su Jin's mind abruptly fogged, a wave of profound lethargy causing his iron grip to go slack.
A fatal opening. The woman seized it instantly, coiling her free leg and kicking fiercely into Su Jin's chest.
She skidded back across the concrete, re-establishing a safe distance.
She had just scrambled to her feet when something wet and meaty slapped loudly across her face, smearing blood over her remaining eye.
Su Jin, radiating murderous rage, charged her once more.
But after only two steps, that intoxicating perfume hit him again. His eyes glazed over, and he froze mid-stride like a broken machine.
The woman scrambled backward blindly, desperately peeling the sticky lump off her face.
When she finally looked at the object in her bloody palm, she nearly shattered her own teeth in rage!
Her remaining eye twitched violently. Pure, unadulterated hatred boiled over!
An ear! It was her own goddamn severed ear! The psycho had scraped it off the concrete and pitched it at her face!
They hadn't even exchanged two sentences! She was already half-blind, missing an ear, suffering massive spinal fractures, and her groin felt like it had been ripped apart... Was this feral bastard a rabid dog in a past life?!
Having stalled out twice, Su Jin's nerves went taut. He stared her down, suppressing the urge to rush in blindly.
His initial tactical assessment was garbage. Her Ability wasn't speed; it was psychological interference.
If he could maintain his explosive output without getting mentally staggered, he could rip her head off in a second.
But the element of surprise was gone. If she could interrupt his cognitive functions mid-strike, one wrong move would leave his throat wide open.
Even though his solar-powered Ability aggressively buffed all his stats under the midday sun, it was just raw biological enhancement. A knife to the brain or an artery would still put him in the ground.
This wasn't a video game. He didn't have magical invulnerability. He was still bound by human biology and its critical weak points.
A tense stalemate descended on the rooftop.
The woman let out a bitter, blood-bubbling laugh. "Good! Very good! You're a vicious one! I was planning on running, but now? Now I'm going to break you... Remember my name. I am Liang Cui, and from this day forward, you are going to be my obedient little dog."
Su Jin stared at her with dead, icy eyes.
He had beaten her into a bloody pulp in seconds. For her to still be running her mouth, her trump card had to be absolute.
"Heh, racking your brain trying to figure out my Ability?" Liang Cui mocked, circling him to maintain distance. "I'll give you a hint. It's incredibly simple. Every single man eventually grovels at my feet. Especially violent, brutish men like you. You're about to experience it firsthand."
That faint, sweet, and intoxicating perfume drifted through the air again.
I see. A pheromone-based mind control.
Without breaking eye contact, Su Jin calmly reached into his chest satchel and pulled out a pair of crusty socks he hadn't washed in over ten days. He ripped them into two thick wads and violently shoved them deep up his own nostrils.
Liang Cui froze, staring at him in utter disbelief before letting out a hysterical, angry laugh. "You... you absolute disgusting freak! Do you really think that will save you?!"
Su Jin couldn't be bothered to listen to her villain monologue. He braced to blitz her, but his boots abruptly locked in place.
The battered, bloody face of Liang Cui suddenly began to blur and soften in his vision, replaced by a radiant, intoxicating beauty. A sudden, violent surge of intense infatuation exploded in his chest.
Su Jin's lips parted slightly. The cold, corporate Killing Intent completely melted away, and his tense combat muscles went completely slack.
He glanced down, only to realize that while his combat muscles had relaxed, a very different part of his anatomy was suddenly standing at rigid attention!
