Pacing out a story is a lot more work than I thought it would be. I think I've already botched it with the previous couple of chapters, but I think this one feels much more smooth. Most of the planning I do for a chapter goes into character and motivations and how and when they'll grow, and what the character relationships will be, and how everyone can be a foil to everyone else, so when I just have to write characters doing something, I tend to rush through it. Luckily this chapter is very character heavy, so I think the pacing feels much better. Hopefully I can figure out how to pace actions better in the future.
