If it wasn't clear from my writing of this story, I LOVE Isekai and Fantasy. But I HATE power fantasy. This dichotomy, unfortunately, has been uniquely awful for my ability to enjoy the media. So much Isekai is about easy escapism. While that is something I can completely understand wanting, I often can't stomach it. So often, the protagonists are absolved of whatever made them prime candidates to be Isekaied upon arriving in the new world, rather than that change in circumstance jump starting their growth past whatever had been holding them back in their original world. I wanna see my protagonists effort and grow, dang it, not go on a cakewalk! Character growth should beget strength; Strength should not eclipse character growth. A rather unfortunate opinion of mine for my characters ;)
