Fey raised the corners of her lips, and a wide arrogant smile appeared on her cute face. She opened her mouth and her voice sounded in my ears, “The contract between us has now been forged.”
I nodded my head in response to her words. “Yeah,” I replied.
A quarter of the second passed; I furrowed my eyebrows and closed my eyes as I thought,
I now unlocked talents, and I need to select my talent specialisation before doing anything else. But to do that I need to access the talents from my RE: EFO game features. But I decided not to use any of the game features while I am in front of people so that I don’t get into any unnecessary trouble. But Fey will be around me for at least the next 10 years, it should be fine, right?
“What is your name, warlock?” Fey’s voice sounded in my ears again as my thoughts concluded, and I opened my eyes. I saw her standing in an arrogant standing posture with crossed arms; I saw a wide arrogant smile on her face; I saw her looking at me with an arrogant look in her eyes.
Her posture, her smile and her eyes all remind me of the rich brats that think they own everything and everyone… Well, I guess it's better to have a confident brat for a companion rather than a whiny crybaby.
I raised the corners of my lips, and a slight smile appeared on my face. “My name is Drak,” I introduced myself.
Fey slightly nodded her head; then she lowered her arms to her sides and slightly tilted her head, “So what’s the plan, Drak? What were you doing before summoning me?”
I raised my right arm from the side of my body to my neck and scratched it before saying, “My current goal is to kill the wolf king. As for your second question – I was killing the wolves.” After finishing my words, I returned my arm back to the side of my body.
“I see,” Fey replied and lowered each of her arms to each side of her body.
Now
then, how do I explain my ‘game features’ to her. Is it even a good idea to explain them? Or do I just say – ‘Hey I will space out for a while, don’t bother me okay?’ and don’t explain anything to her.
I thought and Fey’s voice sounded, interrupting my thoughts, and making me focus my eyes on her as she said, “Why are you just standing and staring into space, Drak?”
Explaining it will be too troublesome.
I thought; then I said,
“Fey, I will zone out for a few minutes. During this time, I would like you not to disturb me unless your life is at danger.”
Fey furrowed her eyebrows and crossed her arms once more. “You will zone out?” she said with a questioning voice.
“That’s right,” I said as I nodded my head in confirmation.
“Huh?” Fey said and tilted her head in confusion, and I without waiting for her to say anything else, spoke out in my head,
Talents!
A talent window opened in front of me, and I widened my eyes from surprise as I saw four specialisations. One more than I originally remembered there being.
Four specialisations? Not three?
I thought.
<
Demon Summoning, DPS
>
<
Curse Master, DPS
>
<
Demonic Possession, Tank, DPS
>
<
Destruction, DPS
>
I looked over the four specialisation names and then moved my eyes to the last of the four.
This is the specialisation I have never seen. It must have appeared because I forged a contract with Fey who is an archdemon. I think… Hmm, since it was given to me because I formed a contract with an archdemon, it must be superior to the other three talent specialisations. Since it’s the superior one, my choice is clear. Destruction.
A few messages floated up in front of me.
<You have selected – Destruction specialisation>
<You have learned a skill – Essence Bolt, Launches an essence bolt dealing 250% of your Intellect + Weapon Damage as damage, Range: 30 yards, Cooldown: 0s, Cost: 10% of your health, Cast Time: Instant>
This skill is really good! Close.
The talent window closed and I saw Fey looking at me with crossed arms and a frown. “You are done spacing out?” she said.
I nodded my head, “Yeah.”
But that said, I don’t believe I can kill the wolf king as I am now. I have to level up to level 20 at least. Luckily these wolves only stop giving experience once I hit level 20.
“Let’s go, I will kill some wolves.”
Fey narrowed her eyes, “Not the wolf king?”
I nodded my head, “Yeah. For now just the wolves.”
Fey shrugged her shoulders, “Alright.”
I turned my head first to the left and then to the right, looking around my surroundings, and searching for any wolves I could kill. And luckily for me, I saw one standing to my right around 40-yards away from me.
<Wolf, Level 4>
<HP: 200/200>
I raised my right arm, opened my palm and pointed at the wolf.
Shadow Bolt!
I thought and
my hand got enveloped in black glow and words floated up in my head. “L'togael bolt!” I spoke and a black projectile flew out of my right hand’s palm.
Swoosh!
The black projectile flew through the air and hit the wolf at which I aimed my <Shadow Bolt> at. Damage floated up above its head, <-218>. It yelped out from the pain and fell to the ground, dead. A few notifications floated up in front of me.
<Wolf Slain>
<+40 XP>
At least they will die from one spell now. But that said it will still take me a while to reach <Level 20>.
I thought and walked up to the wolf; Fey followed behind me. After passing 40-yards and reaching the wolf, I bent down and looted it; then I rose back up from the ground, and looked around, searching for another wolf that I could kill.
…
After 3 hours of killing – the day became the evening, and I killed 313 wolves and reached <Level 16> and collected 12 gold and 52 silver coins. And I couldn’t find a single wolf more no matter how much I searched.
I guess that’s all the wolves that I will find outside of the six beginner zone dungeons. I will clear the first five before attempting the last and the hardest dungeon which has the wolf king as the final boss. But before that I need to allocate my attribute points and talent points. Character!
A character window appeared in front of me.
<Name: Drak, Race: Half-Dokalfar Half-Archdemon, Class: Warlock, Level: 16, Title: None>
