I walked up to the stone wall that was overgrown with moss and vines, stopping an arm’s length away from it. Once more, I slowly moved my eyes across the overgrown stone wall as I thought,
I have to push the three switches or pressure plates and the path will open, or that is what Zi Yun told us. Although, when we arrived together with him, the path was already open. It must have been that way, because he had already claimed the hidden class before telling us and leading us here. Thankfully, he still showed us where those three pressure plates were as he was busy bragging to us.
I chuckled lightly.
I raised my right arm and extended it towards a certain point of the overgrown stone wall. A point that was no different from any other point. I felt moss and vines under my hand and I pushed in.
Click!
A clicking sound sounded and I moved my hand away and lowered my arm.
Two more to go,
I thought; then I walked three steps to the right and once more raised my right arm and extended it towards a certain point of the overgrown stone wall. A point that was no different from any other point. I, for the second time felt moss and vines under my hand and I pushed in.
Click!
A clicking sound sounded and I moved my hand away and lowered my arm.
One more to go,
I thought; then I walked eight steps to the left and once more raised my right arm and extended it towards a certain point of the overgrown stone wall. A point that was no different from any other point. I, for the third time felt moss and vines under my hand and I pushed in.
Click!
A clicking sound sounded and I moved my hand away and lowered my arm.
And that’s three!
I thought and I took a few steps back.
One second passed, nothing happened. Two seconds passed, nothing happened. Three seconds passed, but still nothing happened. I tilted my head in confusion,
nothing is happening? Why? Do I have to press the pressure plates in some kind of an order?
I thought, but as this thought concluded, a rumbling sound erupted and a path opened up in front of me. I raised the corners of my lips, forming a wide smile on my face and I mumbled, “Here it is!“ I walked through the opening and entered inside the overgrown stone wall.
Walking inside the overgrown stone wall, I entered a small room and since I got some backlight from the outside, I could see everything in the room clearly. The room had a ceiling made out of stone, walls made out of stone, a floor made out of stone and one exit that led into a stone corridor. By this exit stood two unlit torches on each side, and as far as I could see, there were unlit torches every 5-yards in the corridor ahead.
I moved my eyes to the two torches and I walked to them as I thought,
as we followed Zi Yun into this place,
he said that the torches lit up when he reached them. But when he led us, and we reached them, it didn’t happen to us. Again, it must have been because, he had already claimed the hidden class from this place.
I reached the torches, and they both just lit up.
I stopped in my tracks, and moved my head. First, looking at the torch to my left for a few seconds, and then at the torch to my right for a few seconds; then I nodded my head and walked into the corridor.
Walking through the corridor, every time I passed through the torches, they just lit up. And after passing more than 100 torches, I walked out into a medium sized room. This room, like the room from before had stone walls, a stone floor and a stone ceiling. But unlike the room from before, it didn’t have an exit, and in the middle of the room stood a statue and by this statue stood two unlit torches. The statue was that of a human middle-aged man, and in each of the statue’s hand laid a stone sword.
I arrived—Time to claim my blade master class,
I thought as I looked at this statue
.
I walked up to it and the two torches lit up; then the statue’s eyes lit up and began shining in a golden glow. A status bar appeared above the statue’s head.
<Shiuri, Level 100>
<HP:1,024,000/1,024,000>
Shiuri moved its stone eyes and a rumbling sound sounded, and It only stopped when Shiuri had his eyes on me; he spoke, “You are the first to have come here in the last ten 10,000,000 years, and so I will pass to you my inheritance. Do you accept?”
I closed my eyes,
before I accept, I need to make sure that there is no price that I have to pay like with warlock class.
I opened my eyes,
“What’s the catch?”
A rumbling sound sounded and the statue furrowed its eyebrows that were made out of stone and sighed out heavily, “It’s fine, I will pass my inheritance to the next one,” he mumbled. Another rumbling sound sounded, and its expression returned to normal, “You passed the test.” The wall behind the statue rumbled and a new path opened.
I furrowed my eyebrows, “What test?”
A rumbling sound sounded and a serious expression appeared on Shiuri’s stone face, “Before I answer you that, first I have to introduce myself.” A rumbling sound sounded and an excited expression appeared on Shiuri’s face, “Now listen, but don’t be alarmed. I am no other than one of the ten legendary heroes, Shiuri the blade master!”
Ten legendary heroes? It sounds familiar… If I remember correctly, bosses reference that name quite often, but I never cared about it, as I never had interest for lore and such,
I thought and said, “Sorry, never heard of you.”
A rumbling sound sounded and Shiuri’s eyes widened and he shouted out, shocked, “What did you say?! You don’t know who I am?” He fell into silence; then he mumbled a short moment later, “We lived over 10,000,000 years ago, so I guess it does make sense that the world has forgotten about us… No, no, no, the world shouldn’t have forgotten about us, about me. We have saved the world more than once!” Shiuri cleared his throat and spoke, “Since you don’t know anything about m—ehm, us, the ten legendary heroes. I will have to explain who we were first. Listen carefully and don’t interrupt, young adventurer.”
