*House of Duke Lunaris*
In the guest room, three people were sitting.
A man with a strong build was facing two people. The man was none other than the current head of the Lunaris House.
In front of him, a man in his 30s and a girl around the age of her mid-teens were sitting.
There was nothing unusual about the man sitting in front of the head of the house, but the girl was somewhat unusual, as her eyes were covered by a piece of cloth that was tied to the back of her head.
It was as if the cloth was purposely tied to hide her eyes.
The man sitting next to her was none other than her father.
The current head of the House of Calder.
A House of the rank of a Baron
"So what business brought you here?" - Duke Lunaris
"I have come to ask what the former duke promised my father." - Baron Calder
"Very well, tell what you wish for." - Duke Lunaris
Duke Lunaris knew that this day was approaching soon, as House Baron was getting closer and closer to being a landless noble. The day his father promised to fulfill any wish of the House Calder, House Calder wasn't merely a baronial house like today but a viscount's house.
Since the death of the former Viscount, House Calder is on the downfall and now on the verge of even losing the title of Baron.
He had anticipated that a huge amount of funds, lands, or something of similar nature of great value would be asked by Baron Calder.
"I wish for my daughter, Elara Calder, to be betrothed to the eldest son of the House Lunaris, Lucien Lunaris. As his first wife." - Baron Calder
'A foolish choice. He should have asked for something to make his house's standing better rather than trying to attack House Lunaris' - Duke Lunaris
The face of his daughter was twisted. The cloth over her eyes was already wet from her tears. Why? Because she was being used for her father's schemes.
"Very well, the marriage will take place at the earliest." - Duke Lunaris
"Don't you have to ask for your son's opinion before declaring it?" - Baron Calder
A smirk was clearly visible on the face of Baron Calder. The feeling of triumph filled Baron Calder with immense happiness.
"No, I know he will accept it, and right now he is not here at Lunaris Territory. But let me ask your daughter whether this proposal is as per her wish." - Duke Lunaris
Duke Lunaris turned towards the girl in anticipation of an answer.
"Yes, it's my wish." - Elara
The answer that came out of her mouth betrayed emotions that were visible on her face.
There was nothing left to talk about other than the details of the wedding.
Soon, they were also decided.
Marriage to be held in a month, when Elara turned 16.
The customary wedding event was to be held at a later date, but the formal wedding before the witnesses would take place in a month.
"Don't fear, Duke Lunaris, I will arrange proper wedding gifts for my daughter's marriage." - Baron Calder
Baron Calder threw some more words to provoke Duke Lunaris before getting up and leaving the room.
