Chapter 9 - The Law of Reincarnation

To those who managed to reach this point, thank you very much for reading! I'm not very confident in my ability to catch regular readers if I'm being honest. It's not just my story itself that's niche. My writing style and prose might be difficult for people to appreciate. So thank you, because every bit of views really means the world to me. "I thought you died. You went and opened up this story last year, only for you to suddenly disappear like dust escaping Earth's atmosphere. And now you're back?! Seriously dude, what's up with you?" Ready to hear my excuse? Basically, it's a combination of a couple factors that compounded each other. 1. My work responsibilities. I was (yep, past tense) an all-rounder English Specialist for a game development studio. Since we were a startup company, most of us had to tackle multiple roles. So sometimes I'm doing MTPE, proofreading and editing, and sometimes I'm writing original stories for the game (like the one that was featured back in Tokyo Game Show 2023), and sometimes I'm just filling out our Lore Codex so when the other writers needs push, they can sort through my Codex for ideas. 2. Gaming addiction (Procrastination). There was a time I was playing way too many gachas and you know how that one turned out lol. When you are pre-occupied with something you enjoy doing, you don't really feel like doing the "less fun" stuff. Although I love writing, I love gaming way more (why do you think I even became part of a gamedev studio?) 3. Responsibilities. My mom's getting old, and as the only one in the family who still has no family (and no plans to make one) running errands for her and escorting her wherever she goes became a regular thing. With gaming and my errands, I had even less time for writing (not to mention laziness). So yep! So to answer the question of why I am back now, and why this specific period exactly, there's only one thing I can say: I've lost my job. Yep! I'm currently jobless and penniless. Our company ran into financial issues (part of it is because our game wasn't earning as much as we needed to earn to keep the company going). So long story short, we went bankrupt or so the story goes. My first order of priority was, of course, to look for a new job, which I did. But apparently, the 50 gamedev studios I applied to didn't want to take me. So the unwanted guy which is me suddenly found himself with tons of free time. Sure, I have no money, and probably never will have any until I find a new job, but now I have a lot of time on my hands to resume writing my personal project. Aside from that, I also recently stopped playing games. As in, zero games the past week (and I plan to keep the streak going). I stopped playing games precisely because I want to avoid adding more to my expenses, and so far it's proving to be one heck of an amazing decision. So amazing of a decision that now I can actually write almost single-mindedly it's actually scary. So now that you know this, I'd like to declare: I plan to finally complete the Origin Lore so we can all have fun pushing forward into Nullbound Reagen territory (the main story after the grand prologue that is the Origin Lore) I can't promise I'll release 1 chapter a day like what most crazy authors here do though. But I can at least promise never to quit. So yeah, once again, thank you very much for reading, and I sincerely hope you had fun with what you've seen so far! The steady release will keep happening until we hit Chapter 17, and then I'll take a couple days of break from releasing so I can focus on the story. If I'm going to be releasing something, then it better be at least somewhat decent, right?
