Chapter 122 - CHAPTER 122: FINAL IMPACT

High in the rarefied stratosphere of the Goddess Realm, serene peace has long since vanished. The boundary of the divine firmament, normally bathed in a rippling silver light, is now the backdrop of a chaotic, sonic storm. The stately hum of ancient dimension energy has given way to the shrieking, adrenaline-driven screaming of three teenage girls.

There they hang. For a fraction of a second, the laws of physics seem completely suspended at the absolute apex point above the arena. Weightless, bathed in cosmic glow. Nyx, Jane, and Lila look at one another in their full, all-devastating forms. The bright neon flashes of Jane’s lightning reflect in the deep obsidian of Lila’s armor and the fathomless void of Nyx’s soul. Their eyes lock. The insane, terrifying realization of the perpendicular drop below lands like an ice-cold strike.

Then gravity pulls at their bodies with a brute, violent jerk. They all start screaming their lungs out simultaneously as they plummet backward into the fathomless depth.

The thin wind grips their hair and clothes with brute force. With every passing meter, their fall speed increases exponentially. The arena below them is still merely a glittering dot in the depth.

In the middle of this hair-raising free fall, Lila reacts first. Her instincts, sharpened by the bitter necessity of survival, take over. With a swift, explosive hand gesture, she shoots meters-thick, purple-pulsating vines from her forearms. The creepers snap through the air like possessed whips and wrap three times tight around the waists of Jane and Nyx like kinetic seatbelts. With a brute tug, she pulls the two girls rawly against herself, forging their combined mass into one aerodynamic, destructive comet. The acceleration that follows is terrifying. The brute g-forces grip their faces, pull their cheeks tight, and force the breath from their lungs.

In the middle of this bloodcurdling descent, while the air pressure around them begins to shiver and whistle, Nyx turns her head toward Jane with ultimate exertion. Her liquid silver hair swings around like a burning tail. With a face completely distorting and flapping from the immense g-force, she roars against the rushing storm: “SHOCK THIS!!”

“WHAT?! POTATO WHO?! FRIES?! DO YOU MEAN CHIPS?! I CANNOT HEAR YOU through this fucking wind!!!” Jane shrieks back misunderstood nonsense. Her neon blue eyes are wide open with pure terror and excitement, while sparks literally spew from her claws.

Nyx wastes not a fraction of a second more on words. She gives a sharp, possessed beckon with her back hand and opens the deepest, darkest sluices of her void powers. All of this takes place in a split second. With an icy, silver-black glittering flash, she manifests a massive, compact ice ball of pure manifested void energy, right behind their compressed feet.

Nyx and Lila fix their gaze on each other, open their throats wide, and shout in unison against the cracking sound barrier: “NOW!!!”

Jane understands the deadly choreography of the attack immediately. She tenses every fiber of her mutated muscles, channels the hissing, high-frequency electricity from her entire core, and strikes her power loose with an all-scorching, crackling discharge straight onto the ice ball behind them.

The impact is astronomical. The ice ball does not simply explode; it undergoes a targeted, kinetic power explosion acting as a brute afterburner. The giant shockwave gives their triple body such a bizarre, violent kick that their speed tears the laws of the dimension completely to bits.

“WOAAAHHH!!!!!” they shriek in a harmonious, overjoyed screaming concert. Their cheeks flap wildly in the turbulent airflow as the flashing, moon glass-covered ground grows larger at a killer speed.

Down in the arena, Abysia and Bernard witness the approaching apocalypse. The triple plasma flame comes at them with insane momentum, leaving a glowing trail of blue, purple, and black in the sky. As the impact nears, all pent-up emotions suddenly shoot through the bodies of the three falling girls like a warm, soulful wave. This is no longer training. This is no simple game of teenagers testing their powers.

It is the deep, burning realization of the stakes of this entire saga. The all-defining idea that their kingdom can still rise from the ashes. That their tribe, their family, still gets a chance to live. That their loved ones will have a real, tangible future. Fueled by this pure, raw adrenaline, they fix their gaze with deadly precision on the two figures below.

Abysia and Bernard see the catastrophic threat and instinctively want to leap aside to dodge the immense impact, but Lila is already one crucial step ahead of them. The hundreds of purple seeds she allowed to float through the air as innocent dandelions throughout the fight are now deeply embedded in the obsidian sand.

With a sharp jerk of Lila’s mind, the meters-thick, thorny vines shoot out from the ground like living lassos. They grip Abysia’s massive warrior legs and Bernard’s tight ankles, dragging them with brute force toward one central point. Simultaneously, the ice Nyx strategically rammed everywhere into the ground reacts. The razor-sharp, glacier-like peaks slide toward that same point with a loud, icy crack, swallowing the legs of the goddess and the butler, freezing them solid in a single flash to the unyielding obsidian floor.

Lila, Jane, and Nyx clench their fists, let their respective auras rise to boiling point, and scream out together with voices tearing the foundations of the Goddess Realm:

“SILARIAS!!!” roars Nyx, silver void energy spewing from her eye sockets.

“AURELIUS!!!” shrieks Jane, neon blue lightning exploding meters wide from her claws.

“AUREOFLORAA!!!” cheers Lila in the middle of her purple, pulsating primeval glow.

Abysia and Bernard stand pinned, but their divine battle spirit flashes unyielding. They look up at the incoming, scorching impact, brace their own immense, magenta auras into an impenetrable shield, and call out in unison: “Then counter!! You will not bring us to our knees so easily!”

But right at the exact moment the girls want to strike with their combined, triple power, Lila’s trap reaches its absolute climax. The closed, heavy flower buds she left everywhere in the air open in unison. A blinding, purple-white flash explodes right in the faces of the gods, followed immediately by a deafening, sonic vibration slamming through the room like a massive shockwave.

The strike completely disorients Abysia and Bernard. Their divine senses falter, their balance slips away, and their counter focus is smashed to bits. It gives the ladies precisely the split second window they need.

Jane, feeling the giant, mechanically accelerated weight of Lila and Nyx pulling behind her, gathers all her accumulated kinetic and electrical energy into her fist. She winds up and delivers one destructive, majestic electrical strike, straight onto the gathered ice where the two divine beings stand helplessly pinned.

BOOM!

Bright, neon blue, magenta, and deep black flashes shoot out everywhere from the impact. The entire arena begins to explode with terrifying, apocalyptic violence.

At the extreme sideline of the battlefield, Toki can be heard loudly and hysterically; the beast yelps out of pure terror. It turns on its heels, lets its tail hang, and runs away from the inferno with huge, clumsy steps.

The Grotesque Cat also loses its carefully maintained cool attitude in an instant. As the all-devouring, blazing fire glow approaches at shivering speed, it grabs the Shine-Block on its furry snout with one paw so this hand-forged, obsidian eye protector absolutely does not fly off its head. With its other claw, it snatches the heavy, antique hourglass, tosses the object onto its furry shoulder with a theatrical, panicked swing, and sprints off at an absolute, hysterical pace, far away from the approaching sea of fire.

The impact goes off like a total nuke. A giant, colossal mushroom cloud of crackling electricity, yawning void, and purple bio-energy expands within seconds and mercilessly swallows the entire arena, including the pillars and the moon glass.

But precisely at that terrifying climax, the very last, lonely grain of sand inside the hourglass falls over. The five-year countdown of the training is officially over.

The entire, expanding explosion stops abruptly in its tracks, as if time itself pulls the emergency brake. The glowing inferno threatening to tear the dimension apart sucks itself completely inward with a bizarre, shivering vacuum sound. The immense destruction is compressed into a single compact, bright flash the size of a palm.

Abysia, who reclaims absolute control over the realm the instant the clock stops, catches the shimmering flash with her bare, glowing hand. With a powerful, fluid motion, she swings her arm upward, precisely toward the sky where one of Bernard’s magenta hats still floats alone.

Bernard, who has been teleporting from corner to corner like a phantom in a fraction of a second to absorb the remaining shockwaves, catches the energy. He passes the flash rapidly through his hats, chain-reacting deep into the highest atmosphere of the Goddess Realm. There, miles above the clouds, the flash finally goes off as a safe, completely silent implosion coloring the sky deep purple.

On the scorched, smoking floor of the arena, the three girls lie flat on their backs. Their terrifying transformations slowly fade; the armor recedes and their hair falls messily across the black obsidian sand. Jane, Nyx, and Lila look at one another with immense effort. Their breathing is heavy, their muscles trembling uncontrollably from depletion.

“Yeah… really not… enough…?!” Jane brings out in a hoarse, completely exhausted voice.

They do not even get the chance to await the answer. All three let out a deep, final sigh simultaneously and pass out completely from total, extreme exhaustion. They lie motionless in the sand.

Abysia looks down at the three unconscious teenagers. The silence lingers for a moment, and then the goddess suddenly bursts into a screeching, deep, and booming laugh that vibrates the recovering walls of the arena. Bernard, inspecting his dusty suit with a weary sigh and straightening his half-scorched sleeves, can no longer suppress a broad grimace either. He laughs loudly along with her.

He looks at Abysia, shakes his head in utter disbelief, and says: “Yeah, that is truly your daughter, hahahaha.”

Together they turn toward the back of the destroyed room. There, on an elevated, floating platform of moon glass, Lila’s bandage-wrapped mother has been watching the entire spectacle motionless. Abysia places a firm hand on her hip and calls out above with a broad, proud laugh: “Look at the kind of children we brought into this world, hahahah!”

“WOAH. What fiery spirit, hahaha…”

The bone-dry, sardonic voice suddenly cuts straight through the laughing arena. Abysia and Bernard are interrupted mid-sentence. Their laughter ceases immediately and they turn around with tensed muscles.

In the back of the half-destroyed room stands Faustus. He leans relaxed, arms crossed, against a gleaming moon glass structure. Slowly and with audible respect, he begins to clap his hands. The rhythmic sound echoes through the space. His Void Anting glitters bright and threatening in the scarce remaining light.

“Now I finally see what my cousin sees in her,” Faustus speaks, casting a meaningful, deep, and proud look at the sleeping, exhausted form of Nyx.

A dark, purple-black glow of pure void energy immediately activates around his feet, creeping across the ground. As he visibly prepares to teleport away again, back to the hidden, shadowy place where he guards the sleeping Silarias, he looks at Abysia and Bernard one last time intently. His voice sounds heavy and warning:

“Take good care of this one.”

With a soft, dark woosh, the shadow implodes around him and Faustus disappears completely into the darkness. The destroyed dimension finally falls back into a deep, heavy, and well-deserved silence.

In response, Abysia and Bernard look at each other with wide, open eyes for a moment. The immense discharge from a moment ago still hangs tangibly in the air, and suddenly both burst into loud laughter at the same time out of pure, built-up tension. It is a nervous, relieved laugh washing away the final remnants of the battle.

Abysia wipes the sweat from her forehead and looks grinningly at the three girls lying motionless in the obsidian sand. “Uhh… since they are already asleep, let us send them back right away. They can sleep peacefully there.”

Bernard nods with a mild smile, recovers his calm posture, and taps the brim of his remaining headwear. With a fluid hand motion, he produces three of his signature magenta hats. He tosses them in a perfect arc across the arena, whereupon the hats rotate and hang directly above the bodies of Nyx, Jane, and Lila. The hats begin to spin, creating a soft, purple vacuum stream and noiselessly sucking the three unconscious girls off the floor.

Through Bernard’s dimensional network, they are teleported directly to their own rooms.

In Nyx’s bedroom, a magenta hat suddenly materializes tight against the ceiling. With a soft, thudding woosh, Nyx drops straight out of it, landing gently onto her own mattress and remaining motionless.

Simultaneously, an identical hat opens above Jane’s bed in her room. Jane drops out ruthlessly, swings her arm limply one last time, and lands with a dull thud on top of her pillows, where she immediately sinks deep into sleep, completely knocked out from the battle.

However, somewhere in the transport to Lila’s room, the dimensional coordinate gets slightly disrupted. Nothing appears above her bed. Instead, the hat materializes with a loud pop on the other side of her room, right in front of her open wardrobe.

At high speed, Lila is launched out of the hat, shooting legs-first into the wardrobe and landing squarely among the folded sweaters, scattered socks, and dresses. Her head rests comfortably against a soft stack of towels and her legs hang halfway over a clothing rod.

The wardrobe door clicks softly shut from the impact. There, hidden deep among the fabrics, Lila sleeps unconsciously and completely undisturbed, as peace in the Goddess Realm has finally returned for good.
