Here are the MoonQuill Author Note options for Chapter VIII: The Geometry of Denial. This chapter is massive—it starts the Siege of the Capital, introduces the main villain (High Er), and splits the narrative into two distinct action lines.
Option 1: The Villain Reveal (Focus on High Er)
Post-Chapter Note:
General High Er has entered the chat. I didn't want the antagonist to be just another screaming soldier. High Er is calm, philosophical, and utterly ruthless. He shoots his own advisors not out of anger, but to "clean the room" of fear. He treats war like hygiene. Also, the "Sister Castle" symphony playing over the loudspeakers while rockets rain down? That’s the vibe I wanted for the Capital.
Question: What do you think of High Er's strategy? Is letting Voi inside the walls a genius move or the biggest mistake of his life?
If you enjoyed the start of the Siege, please drop a Rating and a Heart! The war has officially begun. ⚔️
