After understanding Liu Yang's purpose for coming, the elder of the Black Mermaid tribe had already given up on the idea of negotiating with him.
After all, that was the treasure map to the Merfolk Palace Treasure!
It concerned the future of their entire Black Mermaid Tribe-how could they possibly just hand it over to a human!??
At the Black Mermaid elder's command,
All the Black Mermaids threw their spears.
It was unclear what method these mermaids used, but they could throw their spears underwater with incredible speed and power, almost as if they were throwing them through open air.
With such formidable spear-throwing skills, they could probably even hunt whales.
Unfortunately for them, the person they encountered was Liu Yang.
Those spears struck Liu Yang's Glacial Submarine but couldn't penetrate at all.
The smooth ice surface didn't even leave a scratch.
Seeing this, the elder of the Black Mermaid tribe was stunned.
He couldn't help but blurt out, "How is this possible?! Even against steel submarines made by human technology, our spears can leave marks! Could the Glacial Submarine this guy made be even harder than steel?!"
This ice submarine's hardness had already exceeded their understanding.
However, as an ancient mermaid race, they certainly didn't only rely on ordinary spears!
The Black Mermaid elder shouted to the others, "Use that!"
"But, Elder! If we use that, the power is too great-it might collapse our cave!"
Ice cold and firm, the Black Mermaid elder snapped, "We can't worry about that now! Listen to me! This human is very strong and not easy to deal with!
Even if we have to destroy this base camp, we must kill him. As long as we find the Merfolk Palace Treasure, we can rebuild our home!"
"Alright!" The other Black Mermaids nodded, then rushed to the warehouse to fetch new spears.
The spearheads of these new weapons were much larger-not sharp points, but shaped like heavy hammers.
When the Black Mermaids launched these heavy projectiles at Liu Yang, Boom!!
A deafening explosion rang out as the warheads instantly detonated. A violent shockwave tore through the water, shaking the entire Black Mermaid cave base to its foundations.
Even Black Mermaids over a hundred meters away were blasted backward by the concussion!
Yet when the bubbles cleared, Liu Yang's Glacial Submarine remained completely undamaged!
"This... this is impossible! What material is that submarine made of? Ordinary ice couldn't possibly be that hard! To remain completely unscathed under the blast of explosive spears?!"
The Black Mermaid elder was utterly shocked.
They had previously used those same explosive spears to take down a naval destroyer!
It was no exaggeration to say that their explosive power rivaled actual torpedoes.
How could that guy's ice craft have higher defensive capabilities than a destroyer?
"Increase firepower! Everyone, don't hold back, launch all the explosive spears!!"
"Yes, Elder!" The Black Mermaids immediately hurled every remaining spear they had!
Boom!!
Boom, boom, boom!!
The underwater mermaid cave shook like an earthquake. Countless rocks tumbled down, the small island above shuddered violently, and every creature on it panicked.
Even fish within a dozen kilometers were stunned into a daze, floating belly-up.
Yet when the water finally settled, Liu Yang's submarine was still completely unharmed!
"Continue the bombardment!" the Black Mermaid elder ordered.
A young Black Mermaid replied, "Elder, we've used up all the explosive spears!"
"What?!" The Black Mermaid elder's face twisted in shock.
Meanwhile, the female Black Mermaid controlled by Liu Yang's Soul Chain had already returned with the White Mermaid princess and half of the Black Mermaid tribe's map.
She bowed respectfully to Liu Yang. "Sir, these are the things you wanted."
Liu Yang instantly encased the mermaid princess and the map in a protective shell of ice.
Seeing this, the Black Mermaid elder went ballistic. "You actually betrayed our Black Mermaid tribe?! You stole our map for a human? And handed over the captured princess? You deserve to die!!"
Black Diamond roared, "I knew my cousin Black Stone would never betray the tribe! So it was you, you despicable traitor!"
"Betraying our tribe means death!" The Black Mermaid elder pointed his staff at the female Black Mermaid and shrieked, "Water Dragon Attack!"
A massive water dragon instantly coalesced in the seawater, barrelling straight toward the traitor!
"Boom!!"
With a crushing impact,
The female Black Mermaid was sent flying dozens of meters, her chest completely caved in. She spat a mouthful of blood before her eyes rolled back, extinguishing her life.
Seeing her instantly killed by his own hand, the Black Mermaid elder puffed up with false confidence and turned to Liu Yang.
"Don't think you can escape either!"
Liu Yang let out a cold, mocking laugh. "Escape? The only reason I haven't wiped you out sooner is because I was afraid of scaring you into doing something desperate-like destroying the mermaid princess and the map out of spite.
Now that both are safely in my hands, your time is up."
"Audacious fool! Water Dragon Attack!" The Black Mermaid elder thrust a finger at Liu Yang.
A water dragon dozens of meters long lunged forward, but the moment it slammed into Liu Yang's Glacial Submarine, it instantly shattered into harmless spray while the craft remained pristine.
Seeing this, the elder was paralyzed with terror. "This... this is impossible? That was my most powerful secret technique..."
Before he could finish, a crystal-clear ice sword materialized before Liu Yang's submarine.
"Whoosh!!"
The ice sword shot forward at blinding speed, executing ruthless swift justice.
"Boom!!"
With a single thunderous crack, the Black Mermaid elder was blown away with a clean headshot.
The remaining Black Mermaids froze in absolute panic.
"The elder is dead! How is this possible?!"
"Damn it, run!"
"Even the elder couldn't touch him-we don't stand a chance!"
"Get out of here!"
......
No matter how fast they swam, they couldn't outpace Liu Yang's telekinetic ice swords.
Boom!!
Boom, boom, boom!!
......
In less than three minutes, every last Black Mermaid had been eliminated.
Seeing the threat neutralized, Liu Yang finally directed the submarine and the mermaid princess to the surface.
Back on dry land, Liu Yang rubbed his throbbing temples.
Utilizing a Glacial Submarine for deep-sea combat was an effective tactic, but the mental drain was massive.
After all, an ice craft operated entirely differently from a real submarine.
Real submarines regulate ballast tanks to sink or float.
Because both the ice hull and the interior air were much lighter than water, Liu Yang had to force the craft down entirely through raw mental exertion.
The submarine held fifteen cubic meters of breathable air, meaning it possessed at least fifteen tons of positive buoyancy. He had to exert a constant fifteen tons of downward force just to keep it submerged!
Every single ounce of that resistance was sustained by his ice-element mental energy.
Consequently, the psychological fatigue was astronomical.
Even with a mental capacity dozens of times greater than an ordinary person, Liu Yang couldn't sustain such intense exertion indefinitely.
