Chapter 141 White Eagle Empire Superhumans
Satisfied after a good night's sleep, Liu Yang woke up the next morning, stretched lazily, and headed downstairs.
Chen Dan and the others had already prepared breakfast, waiting for him.
Liu Yang really liked this rhythm.
Waking up to a hot breakfast, heading out to secure supplies, and returning to a freshly cooked lunch or dinner.
In the old days of the peace era, he had never experienced luxury like this.
Sitting at the dining table, he ate his breakfast while casting a glance across the room.
Tong Bingjie was staring at him, her expression distinctly off.
Every time she thought about the possibility of getting dragged into a grand battle with Liu Yang tonight, a wave of cold dread washed over her.
Especially when she recalled the desperate cries and endless pleading for mercy coming from Lin Xue'er yesterday.
If she crawled into Liu Yang's bed today, would she end up screaming the exact same way?
No way! That kind of fate was completely unacceptable!
It was just too humiliating!
Besides, the girls living in this villa were world-class gossips.
While Liu Yang was handling her inside the room, there was a solid chance they would camp outside the door just like yesterday, listening in on every second.
Wouldn't all her embarrassing sounds be broadcasted straight to them?
Ah!
Too humiliating!
As her imagination ran wild, Tong Bingjie's face turned completely crimson, burning like a ripe, feverish apple.
Liu Yang caught her unusual reaction and raised an eyebrow. "Tong Bingjie, what's wrong with you? Your face is super red first thing in the morning. Running a fever?"
"Ah!!" Tong Bingjie jumped in surprise, not expecting him to call her out. She stammered instantly, "N-nothing at all! I definitely don't have a fever. I just think it's a bit hot in here!"
"Right. Well, as long as you're healthy, I'll give you a thorough physical examination tonight!" Liu Yang said casually.
He hadn't expected those words to make Tong Bingjie tremble from head to toe.
A physical examination, my foot!
Whether that counts as an examination or absolute devastation, she had spent over four hours listening right outside the door yesterday-how could she not know?
After finishing his meal, Liu Yang headed out to scavenge for supplies.
The Dark Space had never once reached full capacity.
His scavenging radius was expanding rapidly as well; the city he was currently based in had already been stripped clean, forcing him to branch out into neighboring territories.
Fortunately, his flight speed had already surpassed four times the speed of sound, meaning traveling to other cities took mere minutes.
Vaulting into the air straight from the villa, Liu Yang blazed through the sky and arrived at Jiang City, right next to Donghai City, in under ten minutes.
Since he wasn't familiar with Jiang City, he had to search the urban grid manually for large shopping malls and supermarkets.
With the apocalypse a month old, most fresh goods had long since rotted away.
Even so, massive stockpiles of rice, legumes, and packaged rations were still fair game.
And if he happened to stumble upon a few female superhumans along the way, well, that was just a bonus.
Before long, Liu Yang spotted a massive supermarket and dropped straight inside.
Once inside, he noticed the building wasn't crawling with ordinary zombies. Instead, there were over a dozen Moulters led by a single Level 3 zombie.
Skeletons littered the floor-hundreds of them.
Clearly, the zombies had devoured hundreds of their own kind in a brutal survival-of-the-fittest cycle, ultimately producing this elite squad of Moulters.
The strongest of them had evolved into a Level 3 commander with the intelligence to control the rest, saving itself from being eaten and preventing further mutations among its subordinates.
They had even set up an active ambush. The moment Liu Yang walked through the doors, they struck simultaneously.
Liu Yang raised an eyebrow in genuine surprise. He hadn't expected these creatures to run tactical ambushes.
Clearly, they used the supermarket as bait to lure in surviving scavengers, trapping and wiping them out in the dark.
Plenty of unlucky survivors had probably died right here.
Too bad for them-today, their target was Liu Yang.
As a Moulter lunged straight for his throat, an ice sword materialized in midair and flashed forward.
"Boom!" A heavy shockwave echoed through the aisles as the Moulter's head burst apart.
Immediately after-
"Swish!"
The ice sword accelerated into a silver blur, weaving effortlessly between the remaining creatures. A few seconds later, every single Moulter collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
The Level 3 zombie saw the massacre, turned on its heel, and sprinted for the exit.
With a single flick of Liu Yang's thought, the ice blade whipped through the air like a missile, piercing straight through the creature's skull.
"Boom!"
The Level 3 zombie met its violent end.
With the supermarket cleared out, Liu Yang went to work.
He cleared out massive quantities of rice, beans, and preserved foods.
He didn't even spare the clothing aisles, spice sections, or kitchenware-sweeping up everything of value into his inventory.
Once finished, he moved on to the next location.
In no time at all, Liu Yang had cleared three consecutive supermarkets.
He walked away with several hundred tons of staple grains and supplies.
As he stepped out of the third supermarket and prepared to take flight, a sharp movement in the distance caught his eye. Five figures were sprinting across the street at breakneck speed.
Judging by their movement speed, they weren't ordinary survivors. They were high-tier superhumans with substantial combat power.
What stood out even more was their shock of bright golden hair.
Foreign superhumans?
Liu Yang's interest spiked. He shot straight up into the air, zipped ahead of their trajectory, and slammed into the ground with a heavy crash.
Landing squarely in their path, he saw five blue-eyed, golden-haired foreigners-two striking women who looked like porcelain dolls and three massive, heavily built men. Classic elite operatives from the White Eagle Empire.
The sudden landing startled the squad.
But upon realizing there was only a single person blocking their path, their expressions shifted into looks of open disdain. One of the men stepped forward, speaking heavily accented Chinese:
"Hey, pal. What's your deal? You got a death wish blocking our path?"
"Heh." Liu Yang narrowed his eyes, letting out a sharp, mocking chuckle.
"Swish!"
A wave of absolute zero cold air surged forward. In the blink of an eye, all five White Eagle Empire superhumans were encased in thick ice sculptures.
"Ah!"
"What... what is this?!"
"I can't move!"
"Damn it! This guy is an ice-attribute superhuman. He's way too strong!"
Liu Yang walked toward them at a leisurely pace.
"Slap!" He delivered a sharp, echoing backhand across the face of the man who had spoken first.
The man's head jerked from the blow, but his expression didn't even shift.
Liu Yang paused, genuinely surprised.
This guy's physical defense was abnormally high.
Liu Yang smiled coolly. "You come all the way to our Divine Dragon Empire and act this arrogant in front of me? Let's hear it-are you agents from the White Eagle Empire, and what's your mission here?"
The man's face twisted into an angry scowl as he bellowed, "Damn you! You dare lay a hand on White Eagle Empire operatives? Are you tired of living?!"
Liu Yang shook his head indifferently as a fresh blade of ice crystallized in his grip.
Without hesitation, he drove the weapon straight into the man's chest.
"Swish!"
The ice blade punched deep into his torso.
"Crack, crack, crack!"
A series of high-pitched electrical short-circuiting sounds sparked from deep within the man's body.
Liu Yang blinked in surprise.
This guy wasn't made of flesh and blood?
With a sharp twist of his wrist, he slashed downward, ripping open the man's abdomen. Intricate mechanical components, wiring, and steel frames spilled out into the open air.
An amused, predatory grin spread across Liu Yang's face.
"Well, well. What do we have here? A walking, talking cyborg?"
