Instantly her hands stopped trembling while her gaze grew resolute, and then, with a calm and almost leisurely demeanor that didn’t belong in a situation where she was tens of seconds away from death—Varathen’s
Heaven’s Collapse
still descending with that slow, cruel inevitability, almost as if he wished for Lian’er and her to if she didn’t escape and decided to defy him to have time to sink into despair as punishment for her/their insolence—she took hold of the beautiful green bow resting on her back.
When the bow was in her hand she lifted her gaze toward the sky before nocking a beautiful, ethereal arrow onto the string, closing one eye to aim at the falling palm, then pulling back ever so steadily as she muttered in a low voice, “
Thousand-Fold Convergence Arrow.
”
BOOM.
The air exploded with savage force as the arrow took flight, and just after leaving her bow it flashed once before multiplying, one becoming two, then 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, and finally settling at 128 ethereal arrows cutting through the air with sharp brilliance as they shot toward the world-shattering
Heaven’s Descent.
“!!!”
“What is this archery technique!”
“What kind of divine archer is she?”
The cultivators, who had all been attentively watching the scene between the madwoman and Varathen while expecting the former to be crushed to death, were now once again stunned for what felt like the umpteenth time today.
Previously not many had paid attention to Amelia, after all they had all expected that she would simply move out of Varathen’s attack range, since even though she was also a Core Disciple of the Wandering Sword Sect like the ‘madwoman,’ they didn’t believe she would be stupid enough to throw away her life
just for
the sake of a fellow disciple.
But now!
Not only had she decided to attack Varathen for the sake of a fellow disciple—a choice that was somewhat incomprehensible in the mind of the majority of cultivators, especially in a cultivation world that was inherently dark, where everyone placed their own interests above
everything else
and where betraying one’s sect, friend, family, or lover for profit was far from uncommon—
So now… now for her to ‘meaninglessly’ throw her life away just for a fellow disciple was… surprising to say the least, yet even then this surprise was
nothing
compared to the shock they felt when they saw her execute her extraordinarily powerful Archery Technique!
One arrow becoming 128 was already unimaginably powerful, but what was even more unreasonable was that this Archery Technique wasn’t like 99.99% of ‘Cloning Techniques’ where the power was reduced, no, these 128 arrows were all as powerful as the original!
‘High Tier Cultivation Techniques!’ Was the thought that passed through the minds of the majority of cultivators present, while the most knowledgeable ones recognized it as
at least
a Low Stage Core Perfection Realm Cultivation Technique.
“What a waste! The Wandering Sword Sect has THREE heavenly geniuses and one is dead with two others soon following in his footsteps!” muttered an Elder, and that was a sentiment widely shared.
Of course the glee that a large number of them felt was also widely shared, after all one less genius was one less competitor for resources, wasn’t it?
Naturally, that was the reaction of the ‘neutral crowd’ who didn’t really care about either Amelia or Lian’er, which
obviously wasn’t
the shared feeling of the group from the Wandering Sword Sect…
At their gathering location—which was atop the Flying Sword—the atmosphere was
extremely tense.
“Sect Master, please save Amelia and Lian’er!” pleaded a Lyra whose visage was marred by sorrow and grief, something caused both by what she had learned of Mikael’s potentially
grim fate
and, because ‘good news’ never comes alone, by the fact that now Amelia and Lian’er were even in mortal danger!
The grief and pain gripping her heart and mind were unimaginable, but Lyra didn’t let herself be crushed by them, she powered through the pain and acted, doing the only thing she could
realistically do
to help… which was to plead for Qiu Yuelan’s help!
This was the only solution; if the Sect Master acted then
maybe
Amelia and Lian’er could be saved, but if Qiu Yuelan didn’t intervene they were sure to die, and this would not change even if Lyra herself tried to help them, the difference in power between her and Varathen was simply… too overwhelming, Qiu Yuelan was the only hope.
“Sect Master, Junior Sister Amelia and Junior Sister Lian’er are in danger, we can’t leave them alone!” Some other Core Disciples and Inner Disciples pleaded with Qiu Yuelan as well, urging her to intervene and save Amelia and Lian’er, fully understanding that she was the only one who could
truly change
the situation.
Of course, the majority of these disciples did it for Lian’er, who was the mischievous little sister of the Sect adored by the entire Sect, so seeing her like that… it truly broke their hearts, and for most of them nothing would have pleased them more than to jump to her help, but unfortunately—
They were weak! They could only curse their powerlessness and plead for Qiu Yuelan to go save her, and as for Amelia?
For the majority of them she was
just another
Core Disciple, so while—thanks to the harmonious atmosphere of the Sect—they didn’t want her to die, it certainly wasn’t even close to how much they cared for Lian’er.
“Sigh.” A deep, weary sigh escaped Qiu Yuelan whose gaze slowly took in her surroundings, whether it be the various pleading disciples, including Lyra, the Elders whose expressions had all turned gloomy and battle-ready, Kiara who was blankly staring at nothing and had been unresponsive ever since she heard Mikael had potentially died, or even—
The Bai Sisters, whom she knew—from what had happened before the Secret Realm opened—to be really close, probably even romantically involved with Mikael.
These pair of sisters had tried to rush to Lian’er and now Amelia to help when they saw her in danger, an action that would have been no different from throwing away their lives considering the sisters’ strength!
Fortunately, fortunately she saw them in time and was able to immobilize them using her aura, making it so both beauties were entirely frozen in place and unable to move under the absolute suppression of her cultivation base.
“...”
As her attention landed on the Bai Sisters her thoughts inevitably drifted toward Mikael, making it so she couldn’t help but mock herself, ‘Well done, truly well done Yuelan, a heavenly genius like Mikael and you didn’t even know he existed and now he’s dead…’
‘And let’s not even talk about Amelia or Lian’er, I also didn’t have a single clue that both were this talented… I’m truly an awful Sect Master aren’t I?’
For once Qiu Yuelan, who usually never cared nor bothered about her role of Sect Master and everything that came with it—treating it as nothing more than a burden her father left her—began to feel as if she had let him down, feeling the full weight of her incompetence and consequently feeling truly awful!
And her foul mood certainly wasn’t helped by the fact that she was now facing a dilemma, to act or not to act?
If she acted it would undoubtedly provoke the powerful Eidolon Path Sect, potentially leading to a full-scale war between both Sects which could result in numerous casualties, but… at the same time, if she didn’t, Amelia and Lian’er would undoubtedly die!
Close.
The lazy mature beauty closed her eyes for an instant, gathering her thoughts before reopening them, and in that moment all previous doubt vanished completely, leaving only firm determination shining within her golden eyes.
“Nobody can bully the Wandering Sword Sect disciples under my watch!” these words, uttered with unshakable conviction, resounded as Qiu Yuelan spoke aloud her real belief and thoughts.
The previous situation where she would ‘sacrifice’ two disciples to evade a deadly war against a stronger Sect simply
wasn’t something
she could accept!
Not only from the point of view of the Sect—where losing these two talented geniuses was absolutely unacceptable—but even more so because she, Qiu Yuelan, though lazy, truly liked and believed in the ‘philosophy’ spread through the Wandering Sword Sect.
‘In the Wandering Sword Sect aren’t we supposed to help if we see a fellow member in danger!? That’s what I’ll do!’
It was on that thought, and just after speaking, that the lazy mature beauty who was now serious suddenly disappeared!

Sorry for the shorter than usual chapter(1.4K words at the place of 2K words,)
This is because I am having difficulty writing this end of Volume 4, especially today where I am having a kind of writing block and wasn’t able to write anything, this short chapter is everything I had in my backlog so…
Yeah, sorry about this short chapter, following chapter release shouldn't be affected(I’ll try to get out of this writer block and successfully write a chapter for in 2 days)
